Recent images of camouflaged Kia Sportage models have raised speculations about the possible launch of its hybrid 5th generation in Pakistan. However, it appears that Lucky Motors has bigger plans as another image has surfaced, this time of the Kia Sorento. The picture, featuring the same black-and-white camouflage, hints that the latest generation of the Sorento is also set to make its way to the local market.

Hybrid Powertrain for Sorento

Similar to the upcoming Sportage, the Kia Sorento is expected to be launched with hybrid technology in Pakistan. This move is likely to intensify competition in the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) market, which is already heating up with companies like Toyota, Sazgar, and Hyundai offering HEVs. The hybrid version of the Sorento could provide a more eco-friendly option for Pakistani consumers looking to make the switch to greener alternatives.

Internationally, the Kia Sorento is available in two variants: HEV EX and HEV SX-P. While the local model may have slight variations, the global top variant comes with a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. This hybrid engine produces a combined 177 horsepower and 264 Nm of torque, coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle can achieve a top speed of 193 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.1 seconds.

The global Kia Sorento HEV comes equipped with premium features such as 235/55R19 alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and LED interior lighting. It also boasts a stylish Snow White Pearl exterior color and a luxurious Dust Blue interior. These aesthetic features, combined with advanced technologies, make the Sorento a highly anticipated SUV in the local market.

Fuel Efficiency and Launch Timeline

One of the most attractive features of the Sorento HEV is its impressive fuel efficiency, offering an average of 34 km/l. This makes it a highly economical choice for consumers.
