Car Sales Decline: April Sees 5% Dip
Following an 8% drop in March, car sales dropped in Pakistan again by 5% in April 2025. The PAMA car sales data indicates that local automakers sold 10,596 vehicles in April, down from 11,098 in March. Despite this monthly decline, the cumulative sales for the first ten months of FY25 reached 111,464 units—marking a 40% year-on-year increase. This shift in car market trends in Pakistan reflects both seasonal and economic influences on consumer purchasing power and market dynamics.
Two-Wheelers & Three-Wheelers See Growth
In contrast to the vehicle sales decrease in Pakistan's car segment, the motorcycle and three-wheeler category saw a 6% rise, reaching 135,721 units from 127,624 in March. On an annual basis, sales jumped by 26% compared to April 2024. Atlas Honda led the surge with a 9% increase, recording 115,300 units in April, up from 106,203 in March.
Trucks & Buses Sales Increase
The truck and bus sector experienced a 13% surge, with 520 units sold in April compared to 460 in March 2025, a positive sign for the commercial vehicle industry within the broader Pakistan auto industry report.
Company-Wise Sales Overview
Toyota Pakistan saw a 4% rise in sales, delivering 3,259 units in April, up from 3,131 in March.Pak Suzuki Motors Company (PSMC) posted a 12% decline, with 4,003 units sold versus 4,538 in March.
Honda Atlas recorded a 20% increase, selling 1,707 units.
Hyundai Nishat experienced a 5% drop, with 900 vehicles sold.
Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW) reported a sharp 42% fall, selling just 549 units compared to 943 the previous month.
It’s important to note that auto sales figures from PAMA do not include non-member brands like Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, MG, Regal, and Al-Haj Proton.
Car-Wise Sales Figures
Toyota Indus sold 2,516 combined units of Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross, along with 743 Fortuner and IMVs.
Sazgar Engineering contributed 539 Haval series units.
