Toyota Launches Urban Cruiser Electric SUV in UK
Toyota has revealed the all-new Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, a compact SUV now reimagined as a battery electric vehicle (BEV). This announcement is part of Toyota’s ongoing efforts to expand its electric vehicle lineup and secure a strong foothold in the highly competitive European BEV market. The Urban Cruiser Electric SUV is expected to launch in the Toyota Urban Cruiser UK market later this summer, with the Urban Cruiser EV Price anticipated to start at over £30,000. This new addition strengthens Toyota’s commitment to sustainability and electrification in the automotive industry.
Sleek Design and Compact Size
The Urban Cruiser Electric Car features Toyota’s signature "hammerhead" design philosophy, with slim headlights, a bold rear, and a distinctive wrap-around light bar. The design combines the robustness of an SUV with modern, urban aesthetics, making it a perfect fit for the contemporary cityscape. Slightly larger than the Yaris Cross, the Electric Urban Cruiser SUV is engineered for agility, boasting a 5.2-meter turning radius, ensuring excellent maneuverability in tight urban spaces and heavy traffic.

Spacious Interior and Comfort
Inside, the Toyota Electric SUV UK offers a spacious cabin, made possible by a 2,700mm wheelbase and a sliding rear seat configuration. This thoughtful design allows for an exceptional amount of legroom, rivaling that of larger D-segment models. Classic SUV elements, such as an elevated seating position for enhanced visibility, are complemented by ambient lighting with 12 customizable color options, giving the interior a premium feel. The user-friendly cabin layout ensures both comfort and practicality for all passengers.
Advanced Electric Platform and Performance
Built on Toyota’s new lightweight platform, dedicated to BEVs, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Electric SUV maximizes battery space without sacrificing cabin room. The Urban Cruiser EV Launch introduces two lithium-iron-phosphate battery options: a 49-kWh version that delivers 142bhp in front-wheel drive and a 61-kWh version offering 172bhp in front-wheel drive or 182bhp with all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive model comes with an additional 48kW motor on the rear axle, enhancing performance with features like Downhill Assist Control, Trail Mode, and Snow Mode for better handling in challenging conditions.

Safety and Technology Features
Toyota has integrated a suite of advanced safety features in the Urban Cruiser Electric SUV to ensure maximum protection for its occupants. Standard safety equipment includes pre-collision systems, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alerts, and more. The fully digital interface combines a 10.25-inch driver’s display with a 10.1-inch multimedia touchscreen, offering a seamless and intuitive experience. For added convenience, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included, allowing drivers to stay connected while on the move.
Premium Additions for Comfort and Entertainment
In addition to its advanced safety and technology features, the Toyota SUV Electric UK comes with premium touches that enhance comfort and convenience. A 360-degree camera provides added visibility, while the JBL sound system offers an exceptional audio experience. The power-adjustable driver’s seat ensures personalized comfort, and the fixed sunroof adds an element of luxury. These features position the Urban Cruiser Electric Car UK as a highly competitive option in the growing electric vehicle market, combining practicality with premium comfort and performance.
