Punjab Begins E-Taxi Project Registration - Detail Inside

The Punjab government has officially opened the doors for Punjab E-Taxi Registration, marking the launch of the highly anticipated Punjab E-Taxi Scheme under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “Green & Clean Transport Vision.” This forward-looking initiative aims to revolutionize urban mobility by introducing the Punjab Electric Taxi fleet across Lahore.

E-Taxi Project Punjab – Eco-Friendly Urban Mobility

The E-Taxi Project Punjab is a collaborative pilot effort between the Transport and Mass Transit Department and the Bank of Punjab. Designed as a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally conscious urban transport solution, the Punjab Green Taxi Program is a major step toward reducing emissions in one of the country’s busiest cities.

As part of the rollout, the department is calling on Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), local authorized dealers, distributors, and joint ventures to register for E-Taxi by submitting their electric vehicle models that meet operational standards and safety benchmarks. This registration will help form a reference list of certified EVs eligible for the Punjab E-Taxi Drive.

E-Taxi Registration 2025 – Key Details and Deadlines

Interested parties must complete the E-Taxi Registration 2025 process by submitting applications to the Transport and Mass Transit Department by 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. All submissions are to be delivered to the department’s office located at 11-A Egerton Road, Lahore.

To support this initiative, the Punjab government is offering an attractive financial support package, including:

Equity payment assistance
A five-year bank-financed loan
Partial coverage of vehicle registration fees

Electric Taxi Punjab – Financing and Vehicle Selection

Under this initiative, eligible buyers can choose their preferred EV from an approved list, with financing available for up to Rs. 6.5 million per vehicle. Any excess amount over the approved loan will need to be covered by the buyer. This offer is part of a broader strategy to accelerate the shift toward Electric Taxi Punjab services.

To further aid participants, a clarification meeting will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the committee room of the department. Meeting details and outcomes will be published on the official Transport Department website.
