Sazgar Confirms TANK 500 Local Assembly in Pakistan Soon

Sazgar Engineering Works Limited has revealed a major development for Pakistan’s auto market. The company confirmed that the Sazgar Tank 500 in Pakistan will be manufactured locally by March 31, 2026. Alongside this SUV, Sazgar is also preparing to roll out the locally assembled Cannon PHEV, strengthening its presence in the four-wheeler segment.

Sales Performance Highlights
The 2025 Annual Report shared by the company showcased impressive progress. In 2025, Sazgar sold 10,889 vehicles, compared to 5,392 units in 2024. This reflects over 101% year-on-year growth, indicating that demand for vehicles, including SUVs like the Tank 500 SUV in Pakistan, is on the rise again.

Expansion Backed by Investments
Sazgar is aligning its strategies with the Government’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) policy, which promotes cleaner and sustainable automotive technologies. To achieve this, the company has approved substantial investments, such as:

  • Rs. 1.54 billion allocated for land acquisition
  • Expansion of its four-wheeler manufacturing capacity
  • A revised project cost of Rs. 11.50 billion (excluding land cost)

Focus on New Energy Vehicles
The upcoming production facilities will prioritize New Energy Vehicles in Pakistan. Sazgar has confirmed that it will launch CKD models, with the Tank 500 locally assembled in Pakistan scheduled before March 2026. The Cannon PHEV in Pakistan will also join the lineup, strengthening Sazgar’s commitment to hybrid and electric mobility solutions.

With the launch of the Tank 500 and Cannon PHEV Pakistan model, Sazgar is not only diversifying its vehicle range but also ensuring alignment with future automotive trends. These developments highlight the company’s role in shaping the next phase of Pakistan’s auto industry.
