GWM's Tank 800 to Roll Out Before 2025

In an exclusive announcement, Great Wall Motor's Chief Growth Officer, Li Ruifeng, has revealed that the highly anticipated Tank 800, GWM Tank brand's largest SUV to date, is set to make its debut before the year concludes, positioning itself as the brand's flagship model.

Swift Development & Speculation on Tank 800

Breaking barriers with its swift development, the Tank 800 has been a subject of speculation since its unveiling at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. Despite initial glimpses, details surrounding the vehicle have remained scarce until recent spy shots emerged earlier this year, offering a sneak peek into its anticipated features.

Powerful Hybrid Powertrain Integration

Much like its predecessor, the Tank 700 Hi4-T, which currently leads the Tank brand's lineup, the Tank 800 is expected to enter the market as a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). Sporting a potent 3.0T V6 engine, distinguishing it from its Tank counterparts, the Tank 800 is anticipated to maintain the powertrain legacy of the Hi4-T model. This configuration, comprising a 9-speed automatic gearbox optimized for hybrid performance, coupled with a P2 electric motor, promises a combined output of 385 kW and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The Tank 800's propulsion system integrates a front-mounted electric motor, delivering up to 120 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque, in tandem with the longitudinal petrol engine's output of 265 kW power and 560 Nm torque. The vehicle is expected to retain the Svolt 37.1 kWh battery unit, akin to its predecessor.

Speculative Dimensions & Unique Design Elements

While precise measurements of the Tank 800 remain undisclosed, industry insiders speculate its dimensions to rival those of sizable SUVs, potentially stretching approximately 5.2 meters in length. Exuding a regal aura reminiscent of the Tank 500 Price in Pakistan 2024, the Tank 800 captivated audiences at the 2021 Shanghai Show with its distinctive purple and gold exterior finish, featuring angular LED headlight clusters and a grille adorned with prominent vertical bars.

Luxurious Interior with Advanced Features

Interior snapshots hint at a design akin to the Tank 500, boasting luxurious dark brown upholstery accented with elegant wood trimmings. Equipped with cutting-edge amenities such as a head-up display, the Tank 800's cabin exudes sophistication. The center console layout, reminiscent of its predecessor, features a robust drive shifter and a rotating drive mode selector, embellished with tasteful chrome accents, while offering a spacious interior capable of accommodating six or seven occupants—a first for the brand.

Pricing & Off-Road Capabilities

Pricing for the Tank 800 2024 is anticipated to commence at around 500,000 yuan (approximately 69,200 USD). With advanced air suspension and double wishbone suspension both at the front and rear, the Tank 800 Price 2024 promises exceptional off-road capabilities, ensuring an unparalleled driving experience across varied terrains.
