Honda 13 Upcoming Hybrid Models - Details Inside

In a major shift in direction, Honda is adapting its near-term strategy to put greater emphasis on Honda hybrid cars, aligning with global trends and rising demand for eco-friendly mobility solutions. While the automaker still maintains its long-term vision of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, the latest Honda update reveals that the company will launch 13 new Honda hybrids worldwide between 2027 and 2031.

Advanced e:HEV Technology Powers the Shift
All upcoming Honda models will feature Honda's next-gen e:HEV self-charging hybrid system, which is designed to boost fuel economy, optimize performance, minimize vehicle size, and lower production expenses. The models will also come with upgraded advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to meet modern safety standards, marking a major milestone in the Honda hybrid launch roadmap.

Classic Prelude Makes a Comeback
One of the highlights of Honda future cars is the return of the iconic Prelude coupe. Reimagined with a hybrid powertrain and equipped with a “S+ Shift” function to mimic manual gear changes, the new Prelude is expected to roll out in North America, Japan, and Europe later this year. A mid-cycle refresh is already planned for 2028, signaling Honda’s strong commitment to reviving performance legends with an eco-friendly twist.

Civic, CR-V, and Pilot Get Hybrid Upgrades
A range of existing models are also being transitioned into hybrids. The beloved Civic is expected to enter its 12th generation by 2028, continuing the evolution seen with the light refresh of its 11th-generation version in 2024. The next-gen CR-V and its Chinese counterparts (Dongfeng CR-V and GAC Honda Breeze) will arrive in 2027 with hybrid power. Meanwhile, the Pilot SUV will likely be replaced by a hybrid-only three-row vehicle in the US by 2029. Despite going hybrid, Honda assures it will retain the performance and towing capacity customers expect.

Accord and Odyssey Embrace the Hybrid Future
The Honda Accord, a staple in the Honda hybrid lineup, will receive a facelift soon, with a complete redesign expected in late 2027. Production will continue in both China and the US to meet ongoing demand. Similarly, the Odyssey minivan—first launched in 2017 and updated in 2021 and 2025—is scheduled for a total overhaul by 2028. This next-gen model will replace the traditional 3.5-liter V6 with a cleaner hybrid setup, keeping it in step with the wave of Honda electric vehicles and hybrids redefining the brand.

With this aggressive push into hybrid territory, Honda hybrid car news continues to attract global attention. The company’s diversified approach—mixing new innovations with refreshed classics—promises to solidify its position as a leader in the transition to sustainable driving.
