Pandina by Fiat: Low-Cost Electric and Hybrid Cars for All

Fiat's forthcoming Pandina, an enhanced version of the existing Panda model, is set to make waves with its dual offerings of hybrid and fully electric options. The Pandina is not just a regional venture; it will be a global phenomenon produced on three continents, showcasing specific customization options tailored to each market's preferences. What sets this car apart, however, is its compelling price point.

The Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) variant is priced at approximately €20,000, while the hybrid model comes in at €15,000. Production kicks off at Stellantis' plant in Serbia, with the Betim factory in Brazil and the facility in Morocco joining the manufacturing process. Notably, the Kragujevac factory in Serbia, traditionally producing the Fiat 500L, marks a significant shift towards all-electric vehicle production.

Stellantis CEO anticipates the Pandina's popularity in the Balkan region, attributing it to the vehicle's affordability and city-centric dimensions. With a compact length of just 4 meters, the Pandina offers approximately 200 km of autonomy on a single electric charge.

The Kragujevac plant staff has undergone extensive training, positioning the facility as the first Balkan factory prepared to manufacture an all-electric vehicle. A contract between Stellantis and the Serbian government, signed last year, outlines incentives for production, with Serbia contributing €48 million out of the €190 million investment. This initiative not only propels Fiat into the electric vehicle market but also positions the Balkan region as a significant player in sustainable mobility.
