Used Commercial Cars Up to 5 Years Now Legal for Import

The Ministry of Finance has announced a new policy allowing Commercial Used Cars Import of vehicles up to five years old until June 30, 2026. This step is part of the Government Car Import Policy and aims to facilitate Used Cars Import Pakistan for businesses and individual buyers. After June 2026, the age restriction is expected to be removed, opening the market to older vehicles.

Imported used vehicles will be subject to an additional regulatory duty on top of the standard customs tariff. The government has set a gradual reduction plan for this extra duty:

2026–27: 30%
2027–28: 20%
2028–29: 10%
2029–30: 0% (no extra regulatory duty)

Currently, all vehicles under this scheme face a 40% surcharge. Regular customs duties will continue to apply in accordance with Pakistan Auto Import Rules.

To ensure safety and environmental compliance, all Import Used Vehicles Pakistan must meet required emission and safety standards. This applies to both the 5-Year-Old Cars Import and other approved vehicles. The new rules also include guidelines for Commercial Vehicle Import to promote safe and eco-friendly transportation.
