ORA 07 EV Hits the Thai Market with a Grand Launch

After the remarkable success of the ORA Good Cat EV in Thailand, GWM has officially introduced the ORA 07 EV to the Thai market. In China, this vehicle is recognized as the ORA Lightning Cat and was initially showcased in Thailand in December 2022 under the alias ORA Grand Cat.

The ORA 07 electric vehicle is available in two variants: Long Range and Performance, with prices starting at 1,299,000 baht (PKR 1.06 crore) and reaching up to 1,499,000 baht (PKR 1.22 crore).

In terms of design, the vehicle's body contours may evoke a sense of familiarity with the Porsche Panamera. However, it presents itself as an elongated and widened version of the Good Cat, sharing design elements such as roundish headlamps and a grille-less fascia. The Grand Cat stands out with frame-less doors and a prominent crease running from just ahead of the front wheels to the rear doors. The side profile reveals a rounded, coupe-like roof line transitioning into a fastback-like rear end with oblong taillights on either side of the tailgate.

The ORA 07 features standard amenities, including LED headlights, DRLs, LED taillights, a panoramic glass roof, and 18-inch alloys. The Performance variant comes with larger 19-inch wheels and a retractable electric spoiler that opens when the door is opened, when the car is unlocked, or when traveling at speeds of 70 km/h and above.

Inside, the ORA 07 in Thailand boasts electrically adjustable front seats, a 10.25-inch instrument display, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen head unit supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, an 11-speaker sound system, automatic air conditioning with dual-zone climate control, and a PM2.5 filter with fragrance delivery. The Performance variant adds features like a head-up display, memory function for the driver's seat, and massage and ventilation functions for both front seats.

In terms of performance, the ORA 07 Long Range version is equipped with a front-mounted single motor producing 204 hp and 340 Nm of torque, powered by an 83.5 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery, offering an NEDC driving range of 640 km. The more powerful ORA 07 Performance variant features a dual-motor setup producing 408 hp and 680 Nm, utilizing the same 83.5 kWh battery, with a slightly shorter driving range at 550 km (NEDC).

For safety, the ORA 07 in Thailand comes equipped with standard features such as intelligent cruise control (ICC), traffic jam assist (TJA), lane-keep assist (LKA), lane departure warning (LDW), and rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA). Additional safety features include door opening warning (DOW), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a 360-degree camera system, along with an automatic parking function.
