Hyundai Car Prices Increased, EVs Unchanged

Hyundai Pakistan has officially updated its car prices in response to the NEV Adoption Levy introduced in the Federal Budget 2025–26. This Hyundai price hike affects all models except electric vehicles (EVs), making Hyundai the latest automaker in Pakistan to adjust prices under this new policy.

According to the official announcement, the Hyundai price increase is effective from 1st July 2025. The company emphasized that this update in Hyundai Pakistan prices is directly linked to the government's NEV levy, and no other economic factors influenced the decision.

Hyundai’s Revised Prices (Effective 1st July 2025):

Important Clarification from Hyundai Pakistan
Hyundai Pakistan clearly stated that the reason behind the price change is solely the NEV levy. However, there is one exception: the Sonata N Line has seen a total increase of Rs. 641,000, of which Rs. 150,000 is attributed to external market factors and Rs. 491,000 is due to the NEV Adoption Levy.

Understanding the NEV Adoption Levy
The NEV (New Energy Vehicle) Adoption Levy, announced in the 2025–26 budget, is a new tax imposed on locally manufactured petrol and diesel vehicles. It ranges from 1% to 3% based on engine capacity. The aim is to promote eco-friendly transportation by making Hyundai EV prices and other electric models more attractive compared to traditional combustion engine vehicles.

This move is part of a broader government effort to transition towards clean mobility and reduce emissions.

Industry Impact and What to Expect
With Hyundai now following the footsteps of Changan and other brands, it's likely that similar Hyundai car rates and adjustments will become common across the industry. Consumers can expect continuous changes in Hyundai car news, especially related to taxes, levies, and price updates.

For those tracking Hyundai car updates or comparing current Hyundai latest prices, it is advisable to refer to the official Hyundai model prices shared by authorized dealerships or check the online Hyundai price list.
