Kia Sportage 2025: Facelift Specs & Highlights
Kia has launched the 2025 facelifted Sportage in South Korea, showcasing updates in powertrain, technology, and overall design for the SUV’s fifth generation. Positioned in the competitive C-segment, the new Sportage offers drivers a variety of options, including turbocharged petrol, petrol-hybrid, and LPG powertrains, making it adaptable for various driving needs. These upgrades place the Sportage among top choices for drivers looking for versatility and innovation in their SUV.
Dimensions and Wheel Options
The dimensions of the 2025 Sportage have been refined for a well-balanced road presence, measuring 4,685 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,755 mm. This setup ensures a stable and spacious ride, while a wheel track of 1,615 mm at the front and 1,622 mm at the rear enhances stability. Kia also offers multiple alloy wheel choices, ranging from 17 to 19 inches in diameter, with tire options of 235/65R17, 235/60R18, and 235/55R19, allowing buyers to customize the SUV’s look and handling.
Enhanced Powertrain Options
Kia has refreshed the Sportage’s powertrain lineup, introducing a reengineered 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine, now paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, an upgrade from the previous seven-speed dual-clutch setup. Drivers can choose between 2WD and AWD options, with the engine producing 180 PS and 270 Nm of torque, delivering a balanced and responsive performance. Additionally, for eco-conscious drivers, a petrol-hybrid variant features a 65 PS electric motor with 264 Nm of torque, and a new “infant mode” softens acceleration for a smoother ride. A 2.0-liter LPG variant is also available, delivering 146 PS and 195 Nm of torque with a six-speed automatic transmission, offering further flexibility for drivers.
Advanced Interior Technology
Inside, the 2025 Sportage facelift impresses with dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment, all supported by Kia’s latest ccNC software. This setup is compatible with over-the-air updates, enabling seamless software improvements without requiring a dealership visit. Higher trims offer added convenience with a head-up display and a redesigned steering wheel with touch-detection technology for lane-centering assist. Enhanced navigation with an augmented reality view and adaptive cruise control that leverages satellite data for speed adjustments make the Sportage a tech-forward choice.
Comprehensive Safety and Availability
Kia has equipped the 2025 Sportage with a comprehensive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, including Highway Driving Assist 2, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane-centering, even allowing for automatic lane changes. Additional ADAS features such as lane-keeping assist, forward and rear collision avoidance, and smart parking assist contribute to a safer, user-friendly driving experience. Priced from 28,360,000 won (approximately $21,000) in South Korea, the 2025 Sportage facelift is expected to reach right-hand-drive markets, like Australia, by Q2 2025, with its debut in Malaysia anticipated later this year. This new model sets a high standard in the C-segment SUV market, blending performance, style, and advanced features.
